Danielle James, DVM

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology (DACVD) 

Dr. Danielle James, the practice owner, is just one of 250 Board-Certified Veterinary Dermatologists in North America. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After graduation, she worked as a general practitioner in a small veterinary practice in Gainesville, Florida. In 2007, Dr. James started her residency at the prestigious Animal Dermatology Clinic in San Diego under the mentorship of Dr. Craig Griffin and achieved board certification in Veterinary Dermatology in 2010. Dr. James moved back to her native city of Miami in 2011, and prior to opening her own practice, she served as the dermatologist at several Banfield Pet Hospitals throughout South Florida. Dr. James participated as an investigator in a clinical trial of a new allergy medication, and served as a mentor to dermatology residents and senior veterinary students from Western University Veterinary School. In October of 2013, she founded Pet Dermatology of South Florida and opened offices in Kendall and Coral Springs. At this time, Dr. James lectures to local veterinary practitioners for continuing education, and is the Chairperson of the Credentials Committee for the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD).

Hector Peguero

Practice manager

Hector is our practice manager at PDSF. He has been working with animals for the past 15 years. He started working in the field when he was 14 years old with Animal Care and Control in Carolina in Puerto Rico. Hector's experience as a manager has been established in the veterinary world for about the past 10 years. He studied to become a licensed veterinary technician in New York City and worked for many important animal clinics in the city. He also had an important role at the ASPCA as a SVA for the Mobile Spay and Neuter Clinic in NYC. Currently, he is studying psychology to continue his education in animal behavior.





Frank Gattorno

Veterinary Technician

Frank attended Florida International University and graduated in 2013, attaining a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He has dedicated the last 10 years to working with both exotic and domestic animals. He hopes to further his experience under the guidance of Dr. James and ultimately achieve his dream of going to veterinary school in the future.



Denees Milanes

Veterinary Technician 

Denees has worked with animals for over 4 years as an in-house dog trainer rehabilitating and counseling aggressive dogs. She earned her veterinary certification at Robert Morgan Educational Center in 2011 and has in the veterinary field for over 5 years. Denees has owned and fostered multiple exotic and domestic animals, including a pack of four bully type dogs. She is currently studying to receive her CVT licensing to further her career in the veterinary field.
